Easter and some other things...
Happy Easter! It was a great day to spend some time outdoors hunting eggs. Every year Waycos parents to an Easter egg hunt with the kids. Except a few of the kids are out growing the whole idea, but theres still two little ones who love it. While we were riding the Mule the Easter bunny came!!
I'm going backwards, this was Easter morning Arlee woke up and the Easter Bunny had came to our house. Here she is checking out her stuff.
Saturday we did Easter with my family, we decorated eggs, had a cookout, and planned on taking Arlee to an egg hunt. But it rained and rained and rained so it was called off! Dang it! So we hid eggs in the house. Here's Arlee decorating eggs and grandma and grandpas.
I am getting really bad about blogging, I get so far behind I don't know where to start to play catch up. It's been really busy, as always at our house. We have been remodeling our downstairs bathroom, finally!! Arlee has been a big help for Daddy. She enjoys helping no matter what. We have also been prepping our backyard for the pool, we had to tear down an enormous tree our fence, and hopefully by May we will have the pool in and be swimming.
We have been talking about pre-school for Arlee, so we went to an open house at St. Pats church a few weeks ago, Arlee loved it and we loved it. The teachers are really nice and it helps one of them is Wayco's cousin. She will start in September and go 3 days a week from 8-10:30. I'm a little worried because Arlee is a sleeper, she sleeps til 8-8:30 most days. She's not going to like being woke up. It's crazy to me that shes getting to be such a big girl. I can barely even carry her anymore. She is so self sufficient, cleans her room, puts her dishes away, gets dressed on her own. Geez she doesn't even need me!
Arlee started gymnastics a few months ago and is really enjoying it. She goes once a week for about 45mins. She loves jumping on the trampoline, and doing somersaults. We have also started storytime at the library. My g-ma takes her to that. I figured the interaction with kids is what she needs to prepare for pre-school.
Some of Arlee favorite things to do at the moment:
Wear dresses and skirts during the day and at night.
Anything princess
play dress up
talk about her made up friends??
Play Barbies
Tell me NO
Feed the animals
Use her play scissors and her cutting book
Stickers stamps and coloring
lil tiny things
notebooks big and small
Here's Arlee checking out her basket full of candy! |
The girls with their stuff, the sun was in their eyes, opps. |
And the hunt began. |
Here's her in her Hair Stylist costume with her Barbie |
Here's mommas new haircut! |

Step Mother
I have to share this story.
Ok, Arlee is in love with Cinderella and has been for a while now. She has the book, DVD, and dresses. Well now when I tell her to do things like help pick up, she says to me "okay step mother!"

Christmas (a lil late i know)
I keep putting off the fact that I need to post an Arlee update on here. So I have finally decided to get everyone up to date. Lets start with Christmas, we did the Santa pics, turned out good. We had been explaining to Arlee who Santa was and what to do when she saw him. When it was her turn she hesitated a little but got up on his lap and said she wanted a baby for Christmas. Then smiled for a pic and she was ready to get down. I have to say the Santa was a little loud and different. Okay now jumping to Christmas. Arlee made out pretty good. She basically got all new toys and I had to clean out the old ones to make room for new ones. She loved Christmas, she was very well behaved and enjoyed being with everyone. She kept saying "we are all together" and she'd go around the room announcing everyone names. I'd say it was our best Christmas yet.
As for now Christmas is over and everything is kind of slowing down for us for a while. Arlee has come down with the terrible twos. She is doing everything under the sun to be bad most days. For example she bothers Magic the dog all the time, chases her everywhere and Magic is an old dog who doesn't mind being bothered but after a while she gets mad. Same goes with Freckles the cat she will let Arlee get away with alot but Arlee just doesn't know when to stop. And eating, Arlee is the worst at eating. She won't sit still and won't eat much we have to force her to eat. I'm sure this is all normal but geez some days it gets so frustrating. Let's move on to a better subject, Arlee is getting so smart she can draw pretty good, knows her shapes, can identify most letters, counts, can almost dress herself, is potty trained, can work most all electronic devices. And most importantly can turn on and off the lights, she thinks that's pretty cool. lol. Okay that does it for me, i'm typed out! Enjoy some pics!
